Gakharia talks with Aliyev and Pashinyan following Karabakh truce
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia held separate phone conversations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the signing of a truce in Nagorno Karabakh.
The Georgian and Armenian counterparts spoke of the situation in Karabakh, stressed importance to reach full-fledged ceasefire agreement and hoped positive dynamics to be kept throughout its implementation, Gakharia’s press office announced.
During the conversation with President Aliyev, Gakharia also hoped for peaceful settlement of conflicts in the South Caucasus and further stability and development within the region, Agenda.ge reported.
In its earlier statement today, the Georgian Foreign Ministry expressed its support to a dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan hoping that the agreement reached between the countries to end the military conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh will facilitate a full-fledged conflict resolution process.
Responding to the end of 'a tragic war' in her Twitter post, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili also said that now a new era has started in the Caucasus.
