Azerbaijan sent a note to Russia due to the actions of peacekeepers in Karabakh

On December 11, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry sent a note to Russia because of the actions of peacekeepers in Karabakh.
Azerbaijan has repeatedly called on the command of the peacekeepers to prevent the illegal exploitation of natural resources in the territory of Azerbaijan controlled by the peacekeepers. More often than not, these appeals went unanswered.
On December 3, negotiations were held between representatives of state structures of Azerbaijan and the command of peacekeepers to determine the procedure for conducting monitoring at mines where natural resources are being developed.
Despite this, an attempt by Azerbaijani specialists to visit two mines on December 10, where there are areas where illegal mining is taking place, was thwarted.
Russian peacekeepers took no action when local residents prevented visiting the deposits.
“In this regard, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry sent a note to the Russian side. The Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed on part of the territory of Azerbaijan in accordance with the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, must strictly observe the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” - Foreign Ministry spokesman Aykhan Hajizade said.
