ICRC works to visit Azerbaijani military personnel detained in Armenia

The International Committee of the Red Cross is informed about two Azerbaijani servicemen detained in Armenia, the head of the public relations department of the ICRC Baku office, Ilaha Huseynova, said.
"We are in contact with the families and relevant structures, and our goal is to visit the detainees as soon as possible. As per its mandate, during its visits the ICRC assesses the treatment of detainees, conditions of detention and creates conditions for contact with their families. According to ICRC procedures, observations and recommendations following visits are only made to the detaining party," the ICRC representative stressed.
Recall that on April 10 two soldiers of the Azerbaijani armed forces disappeared in the Shahbuz region of Nakhchivan. The Ministry of Defense reported that they got lost in adverse weather conditions.
The next day, the Armenian media reported about the detention of one of them in the village of Bnunis, Syunik region. He was a soldier Agshin Babirov.
On April 13, the Armenian media spread footage of another detainee, Huseyn Akhundov, with signs of violence. He was detained near the town of Kafan.
