Baku named conditions for the restoration of the activity of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran

The conditions for the resumption of the activities of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran are the completion of the investigation into the terrorist attack against the diplomatic mission, bringing to justice the perpetrators and customers of the crime, stated the official representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Ayhan Hajizade, commenting on the statements of the press secretary of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasir Kanani at a briefing for journalists on June 12.
The Iranian diplomat said today that Baku and Tehran have taken a number of steps to reduce tensions. According to him, the parties are now at the stage of negotiations to move "from the stage of tension to a new stage in order to reopen the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran."
In turn, Hajizadeh noted that a number of contacts have indeed taken place between Azerbaijan and Iran recently. "During the negotiations the foreign ministers exchanged views on the current known situation," Hajihade said.
As for the issue of restoring the activities of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran, suspended as a result of the terrorist attack in January this year, the Azerbaijani side is waiting for the completion of the investigation.
"The perpetrators and customers of the terrorist attacks must be brought to justice, punished to the fullest extent. The Azerbaijani side should be sure that conditions have been created for the safe operation of the embassy and full guarantees should be given in this regard," the official representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
