2.5 billion hryvnias will be allocated monthly between the brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the purchase of UAVs

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will allocate 2.5 billion hryvnias monthly for the purchase of drones for the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In December, the department had already transferred 1.1 billion hryvnias directly to combat units for these needs. Rustem Umerov, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, stated that this step allowed for quickly meeting the needs of the troops and improving centralized management.
Given the positive experience, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the Ministry of Defense's proposal, and now each brigade will receive funds to purchase the drones most effective for carrying out front-line tasks. This also contributes to creating a more flexible supply system for Ukrainian soldiers.
Umerov noted that in 2024, drones of Ukrainian production covered more than 96% of the needs of the Defense Forces, which allowed for a significant development of the domestic defense industry and reduced dependence on supplies from foreign partners.
