Azerbaijan accused Armenia of armed provocation on the border of the two countries
After the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on April 21 to the Zangezur region (Syunik region), provocations were made on the border with Azerbaijan from the Armenian side, stated the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan.
In the evening of the same day, Armenian servicemen fired at the units of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, stationed in the village of Seyidlar of the Zangilan region, as well as units of the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation carrying on this direction on the Armenian side.
“In connection with the incident, the Russian border guards informed the Azerbaijani side that the persons who committed the provocation were intoxicated and asked not to take retaliatory measures,” the message says.
Along with this, also yesterday "in the direction of the village of Shurnukh, Gubadli region, a group of people in 30-40 cars, moving towards the Azerbaijani border, shouted slogans against Azerbaijan in Armenian."
The State Border Service officially declares that if such provocations repeat in the future, the Azerbaijani side will take the most severe retaliatory measures.
