EU welcomes release of 15 Armenians and provision of minefield maps to Azerbaijan

President of the European Council Charles Michel highly appreciated the transfer of 15 arrested Armenians by Azerbaijan in exchange for providing Armenia with a map of the mined territories of the Agdam region.
"I welcome the mutual humanitarian gesture of Azerbaijan and Armenia - the transfer of the detainees and the provision of a map of mined territories," he wrote in his microblog on Twitter.
Charles Michel noted that this is the first step towards restoring mutual trust.
“The EU has supported this process and will continue to offer assistance to accelerate progress,” he further stressed.
