OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs urged to ensure the exchange of bodies of the dead and observe the ceasefire Politics
The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs note with concern the ongoing violence in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict area. The co-chairs call on the parties to take immediate steps to fully fulfill the obligations to implement the humanitarian ceasefire regime in order to prevent "catastrophic" consequences for the region, reads stated in the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, adopted on Tuesday.
“Civilian casualties are unacceptable under any circumstances. The parties must immediately take measures to comply with the ceasefire regime in order to exchange the bodies of the dead, prisoners of war and other detainees, and also urge the parties to urgently agree on a mechanism to monitor compliance with the ceasefire regime,” the statement said.
The co-chairs held talks with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the aim of reaching a political settlement of the conflict.
