Ukraine has become the world's leader in exports of sunflower oil at the end of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY, September 2019 through August 2020). This was reported by the Ukroilprom Association, according to UNIAN.
During the reporting period, Ukraine boosted exports of basic types of vegetable oil by US$5.28 billion, which was 16.9% more than in the previous season, it said. Sunflower oil exports reached a record 6.68 million tonnes (10.2% up year-on-year) to the tune of US$4.9 billion, 17% up.
