The recount of ballots from the parliamentary elections held in the autumn of 2020 has begun today at 10:00 local time (9:00 Moscow time), according to the statement posted on the parliament's website.
Head of the interim parliamentary commission Givi Mikanadze specified that the ballots at 20 random precincts will be counted by 12 professionals. The process will be broadcast live, Sputnik Georgia reports.
Earlier the ruling Georgian Dream party promised that if the results of the recount do not coincide with the data of the CEC of Georgia, the country will appoint new parliamentary elections.
