Russian Ambassador to Armenia: CSTO is a serious airbag

"Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) plays important role as the guarantor, preventing situation from negative direction and escalation," said Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin to Armenian journalists, according to News.am. He was commenting the recent incident on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"CSTO is a serious airbag," Kopyrkin said. "Besides that, military cooperation between Russia and Armenia are also part of the CSTO framework. I think these are quite serious factors in terms of regional stability and peace," he added.
The source reminds that on February 24 there was an incident on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, when an Armenian soldier was wounded due to fire opened from the Azerbaijani side.
