Azerbaijan is ready to host UNESCO and UNHCR missions

Azerbaijan is ready to host missions of UNESCO and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), according to the press-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Leyla Abdullayeva.
Earlier, President Ilham Aliyev sent an appropriate message to UN Secretary-General Guterres.

In recent months, Azerbaijan and UNESCO have held a number of meetings in the video conference format. During the last meeting on June 21, the Azerbaijani side expressed its readiness to host the UNESCO mission.
"In particular, discussions were held over the visit of the UNESCO mission to the occupation-liberated Aghdam and Fizuli districts as well as the city of Shusha," Abdullayeva said.
Also, appropriate questions were discussed with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and an agreement reached over the implementation of the UNHCR mission in the territories of Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan is ready to host the UNHCR mission," Abdullayeva said.
