Alikhan Smailov appointed Kazakhstan Prime Minister
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Alikhan Smailov as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reported.
The parliament unanimously approved Alikhan Smailov as the prime minister of Kazakhstan.
Former Prime Minister Askar Mamin and his government resigned on January 5 amid protests and unrest in the country. Smailov was appointed Acting Prime Minister.
