Pashinyan's presidential candidate: we need to live in peace with with our neighbors
Armenia's presidential candidate of the Civil Contract party Vahagn Khachatryan expressed his opinion about the restoration of relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
In an interview with Armenia's Public Television, he stressed that we can and we should live with neighbors only in peace, adding that the thesis of "peace enforcement" is outdated.
"We all must be aware that peace is the only option for development and life. Nothing can be achieved by coercion. Even if we are very strong, we must still strive for peace," Interfax cited the politician as saying.
Khachaturyan noted that he was positive about the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations, and also indicated that the normalization of political and economic relations is possible without preconditions.
He added that he agreed to run for the presidency, since in the current conditions a person is needed who can represent this institution and make balanced decisions in difficult situations.
