Russia will no longer participate in Council of Europe
Russia will no longer participate in the Council of Europe, the Russian foreign ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry said in a statement that NATO and European Union countries were undermining the European body designed to uphold human rights, rule of law and democracy.
"EU and NATO member states, which are unfriendly towards Russia, are abusing their absolute majority in the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers and are continuing their course towards the destruction of the Council of Europe and the common humanitarian and legal space in Europe," the statement reads.
