Preliminary results say Garik Sargsyan won local elections in Armenia’s Vedi town
The preliminary results of the elections in Vedi enlarged urban municipal community in the Ararat Province of Armenia are known.
Accordingly, the ruling Civil Contract Party has received 5,971 votes, while the My Strong Community Party—4,812 votes.
Local elections were held in Vedi Sunday, and two political forces were running in them: the Civil Contract and the My Strong Community Parties. The respective electoral list of the ruling party is headed by Garik Sargsyan—acting mayor of Vedi town, former Chairman of the State Property Management Committee of Armenia, and ex-governor of the Ararat Province.
