Ukraine's National Guard commander tests positive for coronavirus

Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Balan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, UNIAN reports with reference to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko. "The disease is almost asymptomatic. [His] health condition is satisfactory," Gerashchenko said on Facebook on April 17.
According to him, Balan is now self-isolating.
All persons who have been in contact with him recently will be tested, he said.
The National Guard Commander's duties are now being performed by First Deputy Lieutenant General Volodymyr Kondratiuk.
