Putin: Lot can be done in Iran direction in South Caucasus infrastructure context
A lot can be done in the Iranian direction in the context of resolving infrastructure issues in the South Caucasus. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin after his meetings in Tehran with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts.
"We have good, prospective directions of cooperation [with Iran]; moreover, in the most various domains. For example, one of them is infrastructure development. You know, under the leadership of one of the deputy prime ministers of the Russian government, we have a group that deals with building relations in the Transcaucasia, developing infrastructure, resolving infrastructure issues in the South Caucasus. It is Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia. A lot can be done in this Iranian direction.
Now, as you know, the first test train has already passed through the North-South route. It is a short route, then access toward the southern ports of Iran, and here is the Persian Gulf and India road," said the Russian President.
