Government of Georgia to provide 401 IDP families with accommodations in rural areas

The Agency for IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons), eco-migrants and livelihood provision will provide 401 IDP families with accommodations in rural areas, reports Agenda.ge with reference to the Ministry of Health, Social Care and Internally Displaced Persons of Georgia.
Within the project ‘’House in the Village”, IDPs will be able to choose a house with the land in any region of Georgia. If the criteria are met, the agency will purchase the house for the IDP family.
IDP families are given three-month deadline for selecting a house. The amount of funding depends on the number of family members.
The state has already provided 4,000 IDP families under the “House in Village” project.
Over 21,000 IDP families have been provided with accommodations within different programmes since 2013.
