Baku to conduct inventory of illegally developed deposits in Karabakh

Following today's talks with the command of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh, the Ministry of Economy and Ecology of Azerbaijan issued a joint statement.
It says that on December 7, in continuation of the discussions started on December 3, a meeting was held between employees of the Ministry of Ecology, the State Property Service under the Ministry of Economy and AzerGold CJSC in Khojaly, discussions were held with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent on the issue of “illegal” exploitation of mineral deposits, environmental and other consequences of this,” the statement said.
“During the meeting, the issues of inspecting mineral deposits, in particular the Gyzylbulag gold deposit and the Demirli copper-molybdenum deposit, stopping illegal exploitation, conducting monitoring and inventory in various areas, organizing cadastral registration of property, assessing potential damage and risks to the environment, sources underground and surface waters and elimination of the consequences of the damage.
The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere. Relevant contacts will be continued. The public will be provided with additional information,” the document says.
