Commander of the Russian peacekeepers, General Volkov, began negotiations with Ruben Vardanyan in Khankyandi

In the afternoon of December 28, Armenian telegram channels announced the arrival of the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces, General Andrei Volkov, in Khankyandi.
Volkov began negotiations in the building of the "government" with the leaders of the separatists. It is noteworthy that Volkov went not to the "president" Arayik Harutyunyan, but to the "state minister" Ruben Vardanyan.
One can only guess about the content of the negotiations. It is possible that Volkov will pass on some proposals from Moscow or Baku. However, it is already clear that the peacekeepers themselves will not use force to open the road.
Most likely, Volkov will try to convince Vardanyan that there will be a new regime on the Lachin road with Azerbaijani control.
In addition, the issue of allowing Azerbaijani representatives to monitor mines in the former Mardakert region will be raised.
