Baku / 07.02.23 / Turan: As of 21:00 Tuesday, the death toll in Turkey as a result of a strong earthquake exceeded 4.5 thousand people.
Turkey's earthquake death toll has risen to 4,544, CNN Turk reported, citing the country's emergency management.
Another 26,721 people were injured. 5775 buildings were destroyed, reports Haberturk.
President Erdogan said more than 8,000 people had been rescued from the rubble. According to him, 53,000 rescuers are working in the disaster area. He also announced a three-month state of emergency in ten affected provinces.
