Lavrov to pay official visit to Azerbaijan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Russia, Sergey Lavrov, begins the working week with a full program of a two-day visit to Azerbaijani capital Baku, dedicated to the one-year anniversary of the bilateral declaration of alliance cooperation between the two countries; the declaration was signed on February 22 last year.
The Russian FM is expected to be received by Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev, and will also meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, TASS reported.
As noted by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during the meetings with the leadership of Azerbaijan, Lavrov will discuss the entire complex of bilateral issues, regional and international topical issues, and will pay special attention to the implementation of the tripartite statements by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
On Tuesday, the second day of his visit to Azerbaijan, the Russian FM will speak at the plenary session of the Russian-Azerbaijani expert council.
