Kremlin: Russia-U.S. relations at their lowest point

There has been no substantive discussion regarding the possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump. Nor have any initiatives to organize such a meeting before the presidential elections in the United States been put forward, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Tuesday.
Earlier, Trump said that the amount of assistance to Ukraine, should he win the 2024 presidential election, would "strongly depend" on his meeting with Putin.
"So far, there has been no substantive discussion or any initiatives on this issue," Peskov said when asked if Moscow was interested in such a meeting and whether the Kremlin believed it could occur before the U.S. presidential election.
The Kremlin spokesman added that, in general, there were no exchanges with Washington at the highest level at the moment.
"There are mostly technical channels of communication left. As such, relations, of course, are at their lowest point," he said.
Peskov also noted that during the Trump presidency, communication between Russia and U.S. was more intensive, although not without problems.
