A large group of Armenians left Karabakh through the Lachin checkpoint
Roughly 60 individuals of Armenian descent hailing from Karabakh, primarily holding Russian citizenship, have exited Azerbaijani territory through the Lachin border crossing. They were accompanied by the Russian peacekeeping forces. The entire procedure of verifying the travelers' identities and inspecting their belongings was captured on film by journalists representing Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, China, and Kazakhstan.
The involvement of the International Red Cross was notably absent during the Armenian departure process.
Among those departing from Azerbaijan were a diverse group comprising young adults, children with their guardians, elderly individuals, and infirm Armenians.
The exit transpired without any noteworthy incidents. Journalists report that subsequent organized departures of Armenians from Azerbaijan are anticipated.
Armenian political figures assert that around 120,000 individuals reside within the Karabakh Economic Zone. Azerbaijani analysts are aligned with an estimate of 30,000 to 40,000 Armenians presently situated in Karabakh.
