Gevorg Papoyan is appointed Armenia economy minister
By the decree of President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Gevorg Papoyan has been appointed the Minister of Economy of Armenia.
The aforesaid decree was signed Tuesday.
Papoyan has been appointed to this position based on the recommendation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that the board of the ruling Civil Contract Party had discussed and approved Papoyan's candidacy for the position of Minister of Economy of Armenia.
On February 14, Vahan Kerobyan was dismissed from this position.
Kerobyan has been charged under the Armenian Criminal Code article on misusing, exceeding, using or influencing the official powers as part of a group for profit and with prior consent—and in the criminal case regarding Synergy software company.
