Mercy Corps is back in Uzbekistan
Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan registered on March 9 the local branch of the international concommercial organization Mercy Corps, Gazeta.uz reports.
the major declared goals of the organization are strengthening of ties among private, public and state organizations in order to improve quality of life and services in urban and rural areas.
The branch is planning to implement in 2020 - 2025 a project on balanced nutrition and infrastructure development in 410 preschool education institutions in rural areas of Karakalpak and Surkhandariya regions.
The project will be financed by the U.S. Ministry of Agriculture.
Activities of Mercy Corps were stopped in Uzbekistan more than 10 years ago.
