Nakhichevan corridor from Azerbaijan can go via both Iran and Armenia, Turkey official says

The Nakhichevan transport corridor from the eastern regions of Azerbaijan can pass through the territory of both Iran and Armenia. Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated this in an interview with Kanal7, and noted that in the first case, it is a 61-kilometer route, while in the second case—about 43 kilometers.
"The Zangezur corridor is an alternative or corridor of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line, which will increase its capacity. The project will cross the Caspian Sea, from Azerbaijan to Armenia or Iran, and from there to Nakhichevan, Diluca, Igdir, Kars. The important parts of the Azerbaijani side have been built, the repair work of the existing line on the Nakhichevan side will begin. We have held tenders for 224 kilometers on the Turkish side, then we will move on to construction," said the Turkish official.
"It will pass through Iran or Armenia; Azerbaijan conducts these negotiations directly with the parties. At first, some progress was made in the case of Iran, and in recent days there has been a development regarding the Armenian side, which will become clear in the coming days," Uraloglu emphasized.
According to the Turkish minister, in the near future they will join the Turkic world through the shortest corridor that will pass through Azerbaijan.
