Kremlin spox: Development of strategic partnership with US is Armenia’s sovereign right

The development of strategic partnership with the US is the sovereign right of Armenia, and Russia intends to build its ties with Armenia. This was announced by Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Yerevan's intention to sign a strategic partnership agreement with Washington, TASS reports.
"It is the absolute sovereign right of our Armenian friends. It is the sovereign right of Armenia to develop relations in all directions. We [i.e. Russia] proceed from the main as before. We have bilateral relations with Armenia, we value those relations dearly, we intend to develop them from now on as well," the Kremlin spokesperson said.
Peskov noted that, in addition to bilateral aspects, cooperation within the framework of integration processes, including the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), is very important for Moscow.
"All this is cooperation in general, which gives significant dividends for Armenia and its people. And this is what we [i.e. Russia] proceed from," Peskov concluded.
