Massive Strike on Kyiv: Dozens Killed

On June 20, 2025, Ukraine experienced one of the most tragic
days since the start of the full-scale war. As a result of a massive missile
and drone attack by Russian forces on Kyiv, 28 people were killed and around 142 were injured. One of the strikes hit a residential building in
the Solomianskyi district of the capital, which was completely destroyed.
According to Ukrainian military reports, the enemy launched over 440 kamikaze drones and 32 missiles of various types. Despite
the efforts of air defense forces, a significant number of targets broke
through.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded sharply to
the attack, calling on the international community to increase pressure on Russia and push for an immediate ceasefire.
“Every missile and every drone is not just metal — they are human lives. Silence is complicity,” he said in his evening address.
Meanwhile, massive strikes continue in other regions of the
country. Critical infrastructure in
Kharkiv and Odesa is regularly being damaged despite the active work of
air defense systems.
Amid the escalating situation, President Zelenskyy appointed a new Commander of the Land Forces — General Hryhorii Shapovalov, who had previously worked with NATO. According to the president, this appointment aims to strengthen military reforms and increase combat readiness in the face of ongoing threats.
