Tbilisi denies allegations of movement of Syrian militants through Georgia in the direction of Azerbaijan

Information that allegedly Syrian paramilitary formations from Turkey are being transferred to Azerbaijan through Georgia does not correspond to reality. The head of the Georgian State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili said this at a briefing after a meeting of the National Security Council dedicated to the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, TASS writes.
"I want to comment on the disinformation that is spreading on social networks, allegedly that illegal Syrian formations are moving from Turkey through the territory of Georgia in the direction of Azerbaijan. I want to note that this information is unfounded. It is a lie, and its purpose is to escalate and create tension in Georgia and the region as a whole, "Liluashvili said.
