Armenia has new foreign minister
Upon the recommendation of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and by the decree of President Armen Sarkissian, Ara Ayvazyan has been appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On October 14, 2020, Ara Ayvazyan was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Ara Ayvazyan is a graduate of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University and has been serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia since 1994.
Between 2016 and 2020, he served as Armenia’s Ambassador to Mexico, and between 2011 and 2016, he served as Armenia’s Ambassador to Lithuania.
He is also an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
