Azerbaijani forces enter Hin Tagher community after battles lasting for hours, approaches to Khtsaberd community - Armenia's MOD

On December 12 the subdivisions of the Azerbaijani armed forces accumulated additional personnel and military equipment, including heavy artillery and grossly violating the demands of the November 9 trilateral statement launched an attack on Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd communities of Hadrut region of the Republic of Artsakh, Armenia’s Defense Ministry reports.
As a result of battles that lasted for few hours the enemy succeeded to enter Hin Tagher community and approach closely to Khtsaberd community.
The Armenian side has six wounded as a result of resumption of hostilities after Azerbaijani provocation. The enemy has casualties and wounded.
Armenia’s Ministry of Defense strongly condemns the provocation of the Azerbaijani armed forces. In the released statement the ministry stressed that the created situation has nothing to do with the core demand of the statement signed by the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani leaders on cessation of hostilities and endangers the fragile peace reached with the direct efforts of the Russian president.
The Azerbaijani actions have become subject of immediate discussion with the leadership of the Russian peacekeeping troops deployed in Artsakh.
Armenia’s Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan who is in Russia on working visit discussed the issue during the meeting with Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Shoigu.
Yesterday late in the evening and now too negotiations are being held between Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani militaries to resolve the created situation and return to former positions.
