Armenian Armed Forces to keep neutrality in political affairs - Artak Davtyan issues a statement
The Armenian Armed Forces fulfilled and will continue fulfilling the tasks to neutralize the external threats, Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan said in a released statement, noting that the Armed Forces also cotninue working on reassessment and reinforcement of the security system of Armenia and Artsakh after 44-day heroic and selfless war.
“After the well-known statement of the leadership of the General Staff the situation was resolved and the existing disputes moved to legal field. The Armenian Armed Forces, having constitutional status of being under supervision of the Government and civilian control, will keep neutrality in political affairs exclusively being guided with its exclusive commitment to ensure the defense, security, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of the Republic of Armenia,” Davtyan said in the statement.
Earlier today the Armenian government issued a statement, reporting that with the force of law Artak Davtyan has become the Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Source - Aysor.am
