Conditions created for expansion of political relations between Azerbaijan and the USA - I.Aliyev

The head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, sent a congratulatory letter to President Joseph Biden on the occasion of July 4 - Independence Day of the United States of America. Azerbaijan and the United States have been linked by friendship and partnership for 30 years, the message reads. "We highly appreciate the support of the United States for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country from the first day," Aliyev stressed.
He noted with satisfaction the joint activities of Azerbaijan and the United States in the field of international security and the fight against terrorism. "The close cooperation of our countries in matters of energy security, the active participation and full support of the United States in the large-scale transnational projects we are implementing are the main factors of our success," Aliyev further notes.
Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States has reached the level of strategic partnership in a number of important areas, conditions have been created for expanding political relations, the message says.
“We believe that the United States can play an important role in normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, establishing communications and people-to-people contacts at a time when favorable conditions are being formed for establishing sustainable peace and economic progress in the South Caucasus.
We believe that the United States can make a valuable contribution to the preparation of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the five principles we have presented,” continues Aliyev.
"We appreciate US assistance in demining and hope on supporting measures to clarify the fate of almost 4,000 of our compatriots who went missing during the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict," the message further notes.
Aliyev expressed confidence that the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and the United States will continue to successfully expand in accordance with the interests of the peoples of the two states.
“On this holiday, I wish you good health, success in your work, and further prosperity to the friendly people of the United States of America,” the message concludes.
