Chief of General Staff of Iranian Armed Forces called on Azerbaijani Defense Minister to intensify military cooperation

On August 22, the chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, called the Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov. According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, during the conversation, regional security issues were discussed in detail, as well as prospects for military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.
In turn, the Iranian Mehr news agency reports that Bagheri declared "the readiness of the Iranian side to participate in the joint military commission in Baku."
According to him, "the presence of foreigners in the region will cause tension and conflicts."
In response, the Azerbaijani Defense Minister stated the readiness of the Azerbaijani armed forces to increase the level of bilateral military cooperation with Iran and to receive an Iranian delegation to participate in a meeting of the Joint Military Commission in Baku in the near future.
In conclusion, Zakir Hasanov invited Mohammad Bagheri to visit Azerbaijan.
